Fish Biscuits

You'll need: 7-ounces sardines in oil; 1/4 cup powdered milk; 1/2 cup wheat germ. Mash the sardines, along with the oil, and mix in the remaining ingredients. Roll the fish dough into small balls, and place them on a cookie sheet sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. Flatten the fish balls with a fork, and bake them at 350 degrees until they begin to brown. Cool these tasty cat treats, and store them in an airtight container. This yummy cat treat recipe makes approximately 2 dozen cat treats.

Cat Cuisine

- 1/2 teaspoon vegetable oil - 2 teaspon bell pepper, chopped - 2/3 cup ground chicken or turkey - 1 baby carrot, cooked and mashed - 1 teaspoon grated cheese 1. Preheat a small skillet over medium heat. Add the vegetable oil. The pan should be hot enough when a drop of water dripped onto it begins to sizzle immediately. 2. When the pan is hot, and saute it until it is tender and slightly browned. Stir in the ground chicken or turkey once the pepper is done cooking. 3. Cook the meat until it is browned and cooked through. Once it is done cooking, stir in the cheese. Cookies the cheese just long enough so that it melts, then remove it from the heat and transfer it to a bowl or other container. 4. Allow the mixture to cool completely and serve a small ping-pong ball sized portion to your cat along with their regular dry food. Or, cover the bowl tightly in plastics wrap and place the mixture into the refrigerator until ready to use. Makes about 3/4 cup, or about 3-4 servings.

Minnie's Morsels for Mature Cats

- 1 can sardines, packed in olive oil - 1 cup whole grain bread crubs - 1 egg, beaten - 1/2 teaspoon brewer's yeast (optional) Pour contents of sardines in a medium bowl. Using a fork, mash into tiny pieces. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Drop 1/4 teaspoon of mixture onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake in a 325F oven for 7 minutes. Store in air tight container.

Bland diet for finicky felines

- 1 cup chicken, boiled or micro-waved - 1/4 cup fresh croccoli, steamed and mashed - 1/4 cup cooked carrots, mashed - steamed chicken broth Mix ingredients with enough chicken broth to hold together. This same recipe can be used with fish (broil or microwave until it flakes.) You can also vary the recipe by adding rice or other vegetables. Makes one cat meal.

Tuna Treats

- 1/2 cup whole wheat flour - 1/2 cup nonfat, dry, powdered milk - 1/2 can tuna, in oil OR cup cooked chicken, chopped into small pieces - 1 tablespoon vegetable oil OR cod liver oil - 1 egg, beaten - 1/4 cup water - Catnip (optional) Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease cookie sheets with cooking spray. In large bowl, mash the tuna (or chicken) into smaller pieces. Then add flour and milk. Mix well. After all is mixed, pour in water and oil. Mix well again. Next beat egg in seperate dish until egg gets a foamy texture. Add to mix. Mix well. The dough mix will be sticky, so don't worry. Using your fingers, shape dough into small bite size balls - about the size of a marble. Put balls on greased cookie sheets. Flatten balls with hand. Bake for 10 minutes. Remove treats from oven wait five minutes and turn treats over so other side will cook. Bake 10 more minutes or until golden brown in color. Place treats on cookie rack to cool. Cool for 15 minutes. NEVER give treats to your pet right after cooking. You can add the catnip in the recipe or sprinkle on top of treats. They like it either way. Store in air tight container and store in refrigerator or cool dry place. Makes approximately 60 treats.
